Ann Tashi Slater ’84 Gives Reading and Talk at Rubin Museum of Art: “Traveling in Bardo: The Tibetan Book of the Dead”

Ann returns to the Rubin Museum in NYC to talk about her experience of illness as a Tibetan “bardo” intermediate state, how wisdom from her Tibetan family helped her survive, and the relevance of The Tibetan Book of the Dead to our everyday lives. Ann will read from ""Traveling in Bardo,"" her AGNI Magazine essay about a near-fatal illness as a journey through bardo (http://www.bu.edu/agni/essays/print/2017/86-slater.html).

The event will include a bound copy of the essay to each ticket holder, with a signing after the program.

Ann’s recent publications include ""Teatime in Darjeeling,"" a Tin House essay about reconnecting to her Tibetan roots (https://tinhouse.com/teatime-in-darjeeling/).

On 10/6, she will take part in the ""Personal Identity in an Intersectional World"" panel at the ""She Roars: Celebrating Women at Princeton"" conference (https://sheroars.princeton.edu/speaker/ann-tashi-slater-84/).
