July 26 and 28th, 7pm
The Green Room 42, 570 10th Ave, NYC
After a sold-out run in London and a hit production at the Edinburgh Fringe, GIRL FROM NOWHERE makes its U.S. debut this July as an official selection of the 2018 New York Musical Festival.
Texas, 1969. The country is bursting with the vibes of peace, love, and rock ‘n’ roll. Fronting a rock band, raising some hell, Jeannie’s a disgrace to her mother and having the time of her life. That is, until she’s dragged back to the oppressive small-town values of a home she’s outgrown.
Jeannie doesn’t want to be a hero. Or an activist. Or a role model. Or a mother. She just wants to tell her own story, on her own terms, as loudly and raucously as possible.
Each performance will be followed by a talkback featuring the creators of the show and Halcyon Person, (Field producer/Director at Full Frontal with Samantha Bee). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the fight to protect Roe v. Wade.
Written and performed by Victoria Rigby
