United Solo Festival

United Solo Festival

A reinvention of my 2015 Princeton thesis, MADMAN tells the story of a 14-year-old gay kid in smalltown America, who runs away into the pages of a Russian short story, but finds he cannot outrun himself.

I’m thrilled to present this work in New York at the world’s largest solo festival. I decided to do it not just for myself, but for the kid I used to be and for kids like him, who are struggling to escape from who they are. It’s for people who find solace in the pages of their favorite books, for anyone who's read a story and found themselves lurking in its chapters. This is a story where pain runs headfirst into laughter, where love is married to lies and where absurdity is vigorously making out with reality.

I'd be honored to have my Princeton family see this deeply personal piece of theater!
