Refinery Hotel, Chickadee Prince Bookstore
63 W. 38th Street, New York, NY 10018 USA
Dear Tigers,
On Thursday, September 19 at 6 pm, I will be making an appearance and signing books at the Chickadee Prince Bookstore in Manhattan. My latest novel, THE LAST AT-BAT OF SHOELESS JOE imagines the disgraced ballplayer, Shoeless Joe Jackson, finding redemption in his last years.
The Chickadee Prince Bookstore is located (for one day only) in the store on the ground floor of the very fashionable Refinery Hotel, at 63 West 38th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenue. You can see the online invite here, and more about the bookstore here.
Free wine and light food will be served.
Also on the bill with me is Steven S. Drachman, author of the acclaimed new historical fantasy novel, Watt O'Hugh and the Innocent Dead.
New York Post baseball columnist Ken Davidoff calls Joe ""a gripping story that is both illuminating and emotional... Great for baseball fans, and even true-crime enthusiasts,"" and Booklist writes, ""Burgess has a genuine affinity for small-town southern life and portrays Jackson as a complex man who stunted himself emotionally in the aftermath of his banishment ... Intriguing!""
You don't have to buy anything! I'll be happy to sign your book, or just come by to listen to the reading, share a glass of wine, and say Hello.
