CARITAS is the spring choral program from NYC-based treble ensemble Amuse Singers, taking place on May 11, 2024 at 2:30 PM at St. Ignatius of Antioch at 552 West End Ave in Manhattan.
With a program framed around the three pillars of faith, hope, and love of humanity, it includes contemporary and global interpretations of chants and texts by composers including Missy Mazzoli, Zanaida Robles, Ola Gjello and others, as well as the live world premiere of Set Myself Free, a work Amuse commissioned in 2020 to celebrate the women's suffrage centennial by composer Melissa Dunphy with text by librettist Jacqueline Goldfinger. Amuse Singers is a registered 501C3 that relies on the generous support of our donors. Since 2003, we have been dedicated to bringing music for treble voices — an overlooked area of performance and composition — into focus. Amuse delivers fresh and imaginative programming of works that span from medieval chant to commissions by contemporary composers.
