ROBOCOPERA Debut at Solocom NYC ‘25

The Princeton Arts Alumni logo

Writer, comedian, and dramatic coloratura soprano Nikki Muller is fulfilling a longtime dream of creating and performing a solo show that translates the 1987 classic action film Robocop into a set of original arias, which she's written in German (and a little Italian)—proving a new, unexpected usefulness for her comp lit degree. Composed of original arias and “expert” commentary, Robocopera is equal parts love letter to Detroit’s greatest fictional hero and the operatic canon. (For maximum enjoyment, watch Robocop beforehand-- and maybe give die Zauberflöte, Don Giovanni, Tannhäuser, die Walküre, Elisir D'Amor, and Norma a listen.)

The workshop debut of Robocopera will take place during the Peoples Improv Theater's SOLOCOM, which is dedicated to fostering new work. Early reviews call the show "unhinged" and "hilarious and virtuosic." She will be performing her ~30 minute show during a 90 minute time slot shared with two other artists between 8:30PM-10PM at the Pit Annex: seating is limited, so get your tickets now!
