Bio Amanda Brandes has spent more than 20 years working with arts and education nonprofit organizations. She is currently Vice President, Institutional Advancement for the August Wilson African American Cultural Center in Pittsburgh. Previously she was Director of Development for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, following seven years at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, in a variety of roles including Senior Director, Foundation and Corporate Partnerships. Amanda also worked in the development office of the Educational Alliance as Director of Strategic Planning and Operations and as the General Manager for The New Group (co-producer of the Tony Award-winning Avenue Q). She has filled consulting and producing roles with Red Bull Theater, Keen Company, the Dorset Theatre Festival, and Urban Arts Partnership, to name a few. Since 2009, she has served as a board member for David Neumann's Bessie and Obie Award-winning Advanced Beginner Group. Amanda earned her AB from Princeton University and an MA from the University of Chicago’s Master of Arts Program in the Humanities.
