Bio
Jenny Marlowe is an actor, writer, and community activist. She is an outspoken advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion in the arts with a focus on representation of Indigenous people in media and popular culture. Jenny has performed at theaters all over the country, including ArtsEmerson, Perseverance Theatre, Kansas City Rep, Cornerstone Theater Company, A Noise Within, the La Jolla Playhouse, and Native Voices at the Autry. Her plays have been showcased by Centre Stage South Carolina, Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga, and the Southwark Playhouse London and have earned accolades from festivals on both sides of the Atlantic. Jenny is also known for a series of viral videos about Native Americans in popular culture that she made in collaboration with BuzzFeed. With more than 25 million views, the videos have been featured in numerous national and international media outlets and are included in college curricula at universities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Jenny is also Artistic Associate with cultural consulting firm Indigenous Direction. She has been a facilitator for Theatre Communications Group, the Western Arts Alliance, and several other national arts organizations; and composed the 2019 U.S. World Theatre Day address for the International Theatre Institute with Larissa FastHorse and Ty Defoe. Jenny is a graduate of artEquity’s Facilitator Training Program and an alum of Princeton, Kings College London, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA. She recently moved home to Cape Cod after fifteen years in Los Angeles and London.
