I'm the author of nine published books about the music business, journalism, authorship, and government investigations. My tenth book, "The Life and Times of Betty Boop: The 100-Year History of An Animated Icon" will be released on November 15 by the Applause imprint of Rowman & Littlefield.

Bio

I'm a former reporter for the Detroit Free Press and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the author of the first book ever published in this country about the Motown Record Company, and the co-author of the first how-to book ever published anywhere about investigative reporting. I also wrote biographies of Motown Stars Flo Ballard, Mary Wells, and Rick James, co-authored a biography of rock star Bill Haley, wrote a book about the NYC Department of Investigation, and authored a guide for academics about how to get published.
