Alumni invited to join free, weekly, virtual drop-in dance classes at Lewis Center

The Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Dance has opened its free, weekly, virtual drop-in dance classes to all Princeton alumni. Classes are offered in a range of levels and genres of dance and taught by dance faculty and professional instructors. Try out one class or attend an entire series. No sign-in or registration required – just join in! Email Cindy Rosenfeld in the Dance Program at cr17@princeton.edu to receive the Zoom links. No prior experience needed; all class times EDT on Zoom. Fall classes underway include:

YOGA FOR DANCERS
Incorporating fundamentals of functional anatomy, Ideokinesis, modern dance and somatic techniques
Mondays, 9 – 10:20 a.m.

SOMATIC PILATES
Infused with somatic events for dancers, athletes and movers
Wednesdays, 12 – 1:20 p.m.

BALLET/PILATES
Methods adapted to reinforce and improve alignment and technique
Saturdays, 12:30 – 1:50 p.m.

HIP-HOP: TECHNIQUES AND FOUNDATIONS
Hip-hop’s foundational forms/elements of groove, musicality, texture, footwork, and personal expression with Lauren Auyeung ’19 and guests
Saturdays, 12:00-1:30 p.m. through October 17

BROADWAY DANCE SERIES
Llearn choreography inspired by original Broadway productions with Adam Hyndman ’12 and guests
Fridays, 4:30-6:30 p.m. through October 16

DANCE COMMUNITY HAPPY HOUR: PRACTICE, PLAY + PARTY
Mix of open practice session and a party with hip-hop dance guests
Sundays, 5:00-6:00 p.m. through October 18
